Le traducteur au monogramme CDKP est Claude de Kerquefinen parisien, avocat au Parlement de Paris entre 1579 et 1584. Dans la préface le traducteur prétend que ce livre peut aider « à découvrir la vraie connaissance de Dieu et de soi-même ».
