Description

P.J. Donnelly describes a censer of similar form op. cit. p. 50 illustrated on plate 7A, which is dated to the thirteenth year of Emperor Chongzhen, 1636

Condition

There is a superficial firing crack encercling the vessel where the neck meets the shoulder. The glaze inside the censer stops at the centre of the base with associated glaze gaps and glazing imperfections
