Description

de forme archaïsante quadrangulaire, le pourtour du col sculpté d'un dragon dans les nuages à la poursuite d'une perle enflammée, socle en bois

Provenance

Lü Xiaguang (1906-1994)

Condition

Good condition. A natural vein on each side near the foot. The vein is actually used by the carver on one side to recreate the edge of a swirling cloud. A patch of white inclusions in the stone on the back of the dragon to the rear of the vase. The actual colour of the stone is a fraction more pale celadon than the illustration would suggest in the catalogue.
