évasés sur un court pied droit avec deux anses plates, le couvercle bombé avec une prise en étain, à décor famille-rose des armoiries d'un évêque de la famille von Coels von der Brügghen d'Aix la Chapelle, dans un médaillon en réserve sur fond blanc entouré de deux oiseaux et de pivoines en rinceaux
Condition
Both bowls are generally in good condition with some wear consistent with age. One bowl has an horizontal crack to the rim extending on approx 1/4 of the circumference, and some small retouching/repair to the side of one handle where it joins to the body; the other have a very small dent to the enamel outside near the rim and around the foot rim, the cover is somewhat warped; both have some hairline cracks/crackling to the white enamel ground, more pronounced beneath the covers and inside the bowls.

Catalogue Note
Canton enamel decorated with coat of arms are very rare. The arms on the present pair of bowls are those of a bishop from the family von Coels von der Brügghen from Aix-la-Chapelle.
