Condition
The canvas has a modern relining which is effective. The paint surface is secure though stretcher marks can be made out along the upper and lower edges. Some fine craquelure is present throughout. The paint surface is clean and appears to the naked eye to be in fair condition. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered retouches along the edges where some frame abrasion has occurred, as well as some other minor retouchings. The central portrait appears to be untouched.
Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame in good condition.
