Description

  • Ink, Gouache & Gold on Paper
Arabic manuscript on paper, 303 leaves, fifteen lines to the page written in neat Naskhi script in black ink, ruled in red and gold, verses separated by gold dots of varying sizes, surah headings written in white within gold panels, illuminated marginal devices in various polychrome floral forms, opening double page frontispiece with polychrome decoration comprising geometric borders and enjoined flowers in colours against a punched gold ground, the opening text written within cloudbands, contemporary gilt-stamped binding with flap 

Condition

In good overall condition, illuminated double page slightly rubbed, pages generally clean with a few small stains, some cracks and losses to the binding, as viewed.
