Description

the deep rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot to a slightly everted rim, painted around the exterior in rich cobalt-blue tones with leafy floral and fruiting medallions variously enclosing a hare, a crane and a bird perched in a tree, all between classic and floral scroll bands, the interior with a medallion enclosing a crane perched in a lotus pond

Condition

The bowl is in generally good condition, but there is fritting to various parts of the rim. There is four linear inconsistencies to the body under the glaze to the interior. There is a number of iron spot stains and pin hole size burst bubbles to the exterior and some to the interior. There is also a lot of scratches and wear to the glaze to the interior base. There is a few areas of glaze crawling to the exterior above the base and glaze inconsistencies. The blue is a good deep colour that has oxidized to brown where the cobalt has risen to the surface.
