Canvas is lined. SURFACE: in good condition, generally; what looks like a 'stain' at upper right in background (above boy's head)--an area about 4 by 2 in. (roughly ovoid shape); a few scattered specks of paint loss in this area at upper right and going down to behind the boy's shoulder (all in background)--losses look red (probably exposed under coat) UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: no apparent inpainting
