Canvas is lined. SURFACE: canvas has been compressed and stiffened from relining, but retention of colors, details and pigment is good; canvas is loose on stretcher and buckles in several places UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: substantial restoration (approx. 70% of surface appears to be restored) there appear to be a series of repaired tears at the upper third of the picture which encompass the entire width of the work
