Catalogue Note
In a letter Lazzell wrote to her sister Besse dated 27 July 1942 she wrote, "My petunias are marvelous some lavendar with purple centers five inches across. Look like orchids. I never saw such petunias... My whole garden is arranged as you say you do your flowers. You feel, or what Mr. Hofmann says, 'you experience' the flowers, then your sub-conscious mind does the arrangement. We must know and experience, feel to the depths of our soul, the flower, then we have the inner power to do things with it."
