Condition
This painting is in very good condition. The canvas has been lined using wax as an adhesive, most likely onto a solid support. This lining is reversible and has had no adverse effects on the paint layer. The surface is more or less clean but is slightly dull and a fresher varnish would add more depth to the painting
There are some retouches visible under ultraviolet light in the fabric draped over the unused chair on the left and also beneath the table. This seems to be an isolated area. In the red fabric draped over the crib in the lower right corner there are also a few retouches. These losses seem to be a symptom of the color itself, in the green fabric over the chair and the red over the crib, and there is no inherent issue with the picture. We would recommend removing the solid support and the wax. This picture is in very healthy condition and may not need lining.
