Condition

Both canvases lined. The paint surface on both is very thin, with visible canvas weave in areas. The female portrait has had considerable restoration, which is visible with the naked eye on the hair, chest and the background at left and right of center. The restoration is confirmed by UV light but is not very clearly detectable. Male portrait: no apparent inpainting; old varnish is difficult to see through
