Set with round and calibré-cut rubies, manual movement, length 6¾ inches, dial signed Laykin et Cie., caseback signed 'From France', clasp numbered 902.

Condition

Mounting with light wear commensurate with age. Set with 38 round and 10 calibré-cut, richly saturated deep red rubies (one calibré-cut chipped); well matched. Light soiling to dial. Manual movement, in good running condition. On the movement's first case, serial #16179. Stamped with maker's mark for Verger Frères, also engraved VERGER FRANCE. This mark was employed from 1911 onward when the firm's founder, Ferdinand Verger, brought his sons into the business. The movement's bridge marked "ALL STATER WATCH CO. SWISS - 17 JEWELS - UNADJUSTED". The movement is modern, Ebauche made by Swiss "FELA A.S." Caliber F.21, shock proof, later-made in 1958 to fit exactly into the case.
