of elegant demeanor with downcast eyes and relaxed parted lips, wearing large earrings and the coiffure swept up into a stiff blue turban wrapped at the forehead.

The distinctive stiff turban is seen on dignitaries and court attendants on polychrome ceramics, see Reents-Budet (1994:91, fig. 3.16) for such a figure; see also Parsons (1980: fig. 321) for a very similar head.
