Very good-looking 18th century chandelier of imposing proportions. We would say that 90% of the crystal is original, and the restoration which we mention in the catalogue rather refers to the additional elements which have been fixed when the chandelier has been electrified. These elements can be taken out and the chandelier can be returned to its original condition. A few crystal chains need to be re-hung and a few elements have gone missing. The metal work (most probably gilt iron for the nozzles while the drip pans seem to be gilt copper) is tarnished and would benefit from a cleaning as the chandelier is very dirty. The insides of the drip pans are not gilded as it should be on the 18th century original, and the candle nozzles have been pierced for wiring. Most of the drops are rock crystal, some of them crystal, still old but maybe not contemporary.
