Condition
Good colour match with the photograph. The photograph does not show the second half of the panel and a photo can be sent on request to show full size.
Carving is beautifully executed with a lovely contrast between the silver areas and the gilding.
Evidence of old worm damage.
One missing flower along the scroll on the right side, as visible on the photograph.
One leaf detached on the left side.
The painting shows a lovely craquelure.
Areas of the blue background have been repainted.

Catalogue Note
La qualité de la sculpture de cette tête de lit peut être comparée au travail des artisans qui fournissaient les palais royaux de Naples. On peut citer comme exemple les éléments sculptés des consoles qui sont attribuées à Gennaro Fiore, certainement un des artisans royaux les plus habiles (AGP Civilta' del 700 a Napoli, 1734-1799, Vol.II, 1980, pl 443-445 ). La découverte de ce lit napolitain est d'autant plus importante que son médaillon central peut être attribué au peintre Fischetti.
