Description

of broad shallow form with straight flaring rim, supported on a shallow foot with bevelled grooves, decorated in manganese purple and reddish brown over a white engobe, with a central roundel with chain-pattern border enclosing a kufic inscription on a ground of red scrolls and palmettes, the rim with a band of pseudo-calligraphy on a dotted ground, the rim with a scalloped edge and further leaf and pseudo-letter forms on a dotted ground, the back with stylised leaves in alternating red and black slips
