Description
cast steel, of cylindrical form with detachable lid at one end and detachable ink-well with screw-fitting and hinged fittings at the other, decorated in overlaid gold with foliate cartouches enclosing verses from the Qur'an in monumental thuluth script, the cartouches with palmette pendant-pieces, the interstices filled with arabeques in shaped panels, the lid with mirrored gold calligraphy in foliate cartouches, divided into registers by scroll borders, Persian inscriptions in nastaliq decorating the ends
