cut-cornered step-cut emerald of irregular octagonal form of medium slightly-bluish green with typical inclusions visible in magnification, eight-sided and bilaterally symmetrical, engraved with nastaliq inscription in mirror-form contained in double-line borders, in18-ct gold ring setting, monture Van Cleef & Arpels, stamped MONT. VCA  750 10918 CS GC 1971 and numbered

Unidentified.  The hijra date on the seal may indicate that he is an official of the Nizam of Hyderabad who declared independence from the Mughals in 1724.
