the molded double-domed cornice above a pair of beveled mirror-inset doors fitted with brass roundels opening to an interior fitted for shelves above concave panel doors, flanked by pilasters with gilt capitals and further flanked by an open shelf above three drawers, over a pair of candle slides, all above a feather banded fall front with a bookrest opening to a leather lined panel and sliding panel and a concave door flanked by pilasters with gilt capitals, pigeon holes above bowfront drawers and further pigeon holes above two double concave drawers, the lower section with two short and two long graduated drawers on bracket feet, the whole with incised brass escutcheons and bindings, each section with brass bail handles to sides.  Alterations.

Condition

Overall fair restored condition; with a later glossy finish; the upper section with later mirror plates; interior panels to doors later; veneers restored; alterations to the interior of the upper section; the central prospect doors with chips and losses to the arched molding of one door; inpainting, cracks, small replacements and restorations to the cross-cut molding to the cornice and to some veneers; the middle section with age cracks, losses and replacements to the veneers; the interior with replaced valances; two bow-fronted drawers possibly replaced; perishing to finish in places; green-leather lining later; losses to upper right and lower left corners of molding to the slant-front; age cracks to side panels; the lower section with lifting, cracks, chips and losses to the molded edge to top; age cracks to side panels with shims and inpainting; bracket feet later, originally with bun feet; overall with old marks, scratches, scuffs and bruises, and with losses to moldings and veneers.
