Description

the solid mahogany top above four graduated long drawers flanked by canted corners headed by carved and beaded C-scrolls above acanthus-carved and beaded S-scrolls with carved bell flowers to the sides and raised on bracket feet. Restored.
Condition
Good quality, drawer fronts are mahogany veneered onto solid mahogany, solid mahogany top, re-finished and probably French-polished; overall good restored condition; the top with some old scratches; third drawer front with three small triangular patches to the right edge; bottom drawer front with a patch to the top left corner and with a thin horizontal age crack running half of the bottom of the drawer front; restorations to drawer linings each with a later gray wash and some drawer runners replaced; some small nicks and chips to cockbeading; some patches to drawer dividers at joins with case; three drawer dividers with a large veneer patch to the center above the lock; back left side bracket foot replaced; replaced tip to back right side bracket foot; blocks to feet later; back boards possibly later; overall with some old marks, scratches scuffs and bruises especially to apron and feet.
