the satinwood and tulipwood crossbanded oval top with hinged demilune flaps above a frieze fitted with a mahogany-lined drawer with quarter-round fillets opposed by a dummy drawer raised on square tapering stop-fluted legs headed by inlaid stylized flowerhead paterae, on casters.  The underside with a pencilled inscription Drawer (?), the drawer numbered 4991.

Condition

Overall good restored condition; the top with minor rippling and typical slight warpage to flaps; the underside of top possibly restored to correct warpage; some small patches to tulipwood crossbanding; handles appear to be replaced, the drawer front with very two small patches near the later hardware; top left corner of drawer front with a loss to the triangular veneer section; the mahogany-lined drawer repaired to the back; lock plate replaced; later drawer supports; top of front left leg with an infilled age crack and with a repaired large chip to fluting now with some inpainting; back right leg with old plugged repaired break with some inpainting; some small patches to bandings of frieze; overall with some old marks and scratches.
