the verde antico marble rectangular top with canted corners above a conforming foliate carved frieze above an apron centered by a stylized shell flanked by C-scrolls, acanthus leaves and oak-leaf swags on S-scrolled acanthus-carved legs with scales to the sides.

Condition

Overall good condition; elements appear to have once been painted or gilt; back left leg with a hole to inside edge where knot has disintegrated and with cracks radiating from the knot with possible old repaired break and small losses to carving; right side legs with vertical age cracks to tops; replaced chip to front corner of left foot; the foliate frieze with some chips and cracks; the apron with a repaired tip to one leaf of the right side; chips and nicks to edges of carving especially to legs; stains to back legs and to feet; overall with some old marks, scratches scuffs and bruise. Left legs slightly loose.
