Condition

Overall in excellent condition. The desk has been recently cleaned. The top board with beautiful figuring. There are two small drawers located underneath the center portion of the desk, which are only partially visible in the catalogue illustration. The two drawers side of the drawer case with locking device, however lacking key. This is a superb and rare example of a variant design of the model.

Catalogue Note

This lot and the following have been examined by the Parisi archives.  Sotheby's would like to thank the Parisi archives for their assistance in cataloguing this lot.

Please note, in the printed catalogue and in the lead illustration here, the desk is depicted with two drawers facing inward, and in the second illustration online, it is shown with three drawers facing outward. While this model is meant to be a partner's desk, it makes more sense for the module of drawers to be reversed, so that the three drawers face inward, and the two drawers face outward. Also, the two slim drawers facing inward under the desk top are not readily visible in the illustration.
