Condition

Assez bon état génral. La toile a été ré-entoilée. Réseau de craquelures verticales, notamment aux angles inférieur droit et supérieur gauche et visible à l'oeil nu. Après examen à la lampe de wood, retouches visibles d'environ 2 x 2 cm et ligne d'environ 1 cm en haut, sur les pigments jaunes vers le bord gaunche et autres infimes retouches sur la jambe drote du personnage de gauche. Infimes retouches éparses au bleu à l'angle supérieur gauche, notamment vers le visage du personnage de gauche. Fine retouche de forme courbe vers le visage du personnage de droite et une autre retouche d'environ 1 cm vers le bord supérieur droit, visible à l'oeil nu. There is a network of vertical craquelures, notably in the lower right and upper left quadrants and visible to the naked eye (as seen in the catalogue). Examination under UV light reveals a 2x2cm stain and a 1cm line of retouching in the upper part of the yellow pigment towards the left edge as well as other pin-head-sized spots of retouching around the left-hand figure’s right leg. There are scattered minor spots of retouching in the blue pigment of the upper left quadrant, notably to the left and around the head of the left figure. Fine line of retouching curving around the head of the right figure, and another 1cm line of retouching in the blue pigment towards the centre of the upper right quadrant, visible to the naked eye.
