Condition
Original canvas.
The canvas undulates in the upper left corner and very slightly in the lower left corner. There are signs of paint separation in the darker pigments near the centre of the upper edge and to the drak pigments in the lower centre of the composition. There are two fine lines of surface craquelure in this area and a few very minor lines to the dark green pigment in the upper right quadrant. There are artist's pinholes in the corners. There is a spot of staining in the upper right quadrant, near the centre, and the surface is slightly dirty. Otherwise the work appears in good overall condition with strong areas of impasto throughout.
Under ultraviolet light there appear to be no signs of retouching.
Held in a simple gilt wood frame.
