Condition

Original canvas. There are two small spots of craquelure and a small spot of paint loss to the light grey pigment upper right. There are few lines of craquelure to isolated places in all four quadrants. There is a small spot of paint loss to the darker grey pigment upper left. There is a small indentation and abrasion to the canvas above the centre of the lower edge. The surface is slightly dirty with a few tiny specks of staining. There is a stretcher bar mark along the lower edge. Ultraviolet light reveals pigments which fluoresce that are the hand of the artist. Held in a simple gilt frame.
