Condition

The sheets are not laid down. Two have been adhered to the backing in a few places. Each of the sheets have a vertical crease running through the centre of the work, are wrinkled, and have a few other small creases. One of the sheets has a small loss along the lower edge, two tiny tears and losses in the upper corners, a small pinhole above the title, a small 1 cm long tear and two other tiny tears and losses along the right edge. The works are discolored and there are a few spots of staining to isolated areas of the works. Held under glass in stained carved wood frames, one unmounted, two with cream mounts. To be sold together with two further drawings of the same subject by the same hand.

The cat pictured in the present works is likely to be Utango, who was Winston and Clementine Churchill's beloved marmalade cat at their home at Chartwell in Kent.
