Condition

The sheet is sound and has been laid down. There are two areas which have not been totally adhered to the backboard and are undulating slightly. These are in the upper left and upper right corners. There are pinholes in all four corners and a few extremely minor abrasions and specks of surface matter in isolated places across the paint surface. The surface is slightly dirty, but otherwise in good overall condition. Under ultraviolet light, there appear to a small line of retouching to a small scratch in the lower left quadrant. Held in a gilt and painted plaster frame with a canvas mount. Please telephone the department on 020 7293 5381 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
