Provenance

Given as part of H.S. Ede's A Life of Gaudier-Brzeska by Ede to 'Ted' (probably Edward McKnight Kauffer) and thence gifted to the present owner

Condition

Executed on laid paper. The edges are worn and there is a small tear approximately 0.5cm. long in the lower edge. There are missing fragments along the edge of the lower right quadrant, visible in the catalogue. There are stains across the sheet, notably in areas in the lower left and lower right corners. The surface is discoloured and dirty. There are the beginnings of another sketch verso.
