Catalogue Note

This dynasty of celebrated bronziers is recorded as early as 1813. In 1830, the firm established a workshop at the Rue du Touraine in Paris and in 1841 moved to Rue de Saintonge. In 1860, the firm furnished bronzes for the Emperor Napoléon III and Empress Eugenie. The firm exhibited at many of the important exhibitions of the second half of the 19th century and was known for its fine quality of casting and chasing.
