cartouche form with border of beaded lappets, centered at the base by a cartouche with grotesque mask and monogram CJ?, the top with embossed coat of arms under coronet, flanked by floral sprays and with pendant laurel garlands, engraved on one side "A ma fille Marie, B.C.P. 1826", the other side with 1942 presentation inscription, the rosewood back with inlaid brass filets and pierced and engraved brass strut

right leaf of coronet bent down, a few splits to border and lost or replaced screws, otherwise good
