surmounted by a fleur de pêcher inset marble top above one frieze drawer, the right side with a fall front opening to two small drawers.  The carcass stamped ALIX four times, the lock signed Boudet 43 Bould des Capucines Paris.

Overall in good condition and presentation with the usual tarnishing to gilt-bronze, mostly around the feet; light scratches to marble top consistent with use; carcass and veneer with the usual chips, dents, scratches consistent with age and use.

Georges-François Alix (1846-1906) was a cabinetmaker working in Linke's workshops, possibly from as early as 1881. It is thought that Alix, at some unspecified date, started working on his own, and that Linke purchased some of his friend's cabinetmaking plans and wood models or gabarits after Alix's death in 1906.
