the top carved in relief with scenes of Tutankhamen and fitted to the front with two frieze drawers.
Condition
Gilded with gold-leaf and showing some small touching-in with gold paint in some placed; the top with some vertical age cracks showing the gesso in places; small loss beneath a flower bouquet of one panel; small traces of tape adhesive with subsequent small losses to gilding of top right corner; front left corner to moulding with loss approximately 2 inches in length; overall condition of the desk with usual small age cracks, nicks, wear rubbing and bruises; the back of the desk is centered by a sun flanked by cobra which have been redecorated.
