A rare spanish ebony veneered, fruitwood, engraved ivory and mother-of-pearl center table celebrating the reign of Alfonso XII most probably Madrid, circa 1885-7

in the Moorish vein, the top with six ivory reserves, one signed J. Ceballe, with views of Granada, Madrid and Murcia amongst others, the frieze with roundels with initials AXII beneath a royal crown, on four architectural supports.

In very poor condition; overall with extensive losses to ivory inlays now filled with cream colored resin; losses to moulding around feet and legs; two lion heads at the frieze are later resin replacements; the two original remaining lion heads at frieze are carved fruitwood; losses to fruitwood moulding at table upper edge of approximately 8 inches long; losses to all moulding beneath hexagonal baluster stem; one initial AXII is worn out.
