An unusual and fine gilt-bronze mounted kingwood, quarter-veneered satiné and specimen fruitwood and burr wood marquetry bureau plat continental, last quarter 19th century

the carcass made of solid mahogany and oak, fitted with one frieze drawer.  One gilt-bronze corner chute has been removed to reveal the JA stamp from the bronzier workshop.

Overall good condition; the top showing traces of light discoloration and fading and shadow from a glass top; the brass molding around the top with oxidation and polish residue; all gilt-bronze mounts finely cast and chase but with extensive loss to gilding with green oxidation points to sabots; veneers overall with the usual minor scratches, nicks and bruises, consistent with age and use; minor loss to veneer to apron at left side of bureau plat.
