surmounted by a patinated bronze seated female figure signed H. DUMAIGE to the base and stamped with the Servant foundry mark, the dial of the clock inscribed MEDAILLE D'OR 1867 / G. SERVANT BRONZIER A PARIS.

Overall in good condition and very good presentation; the bronze figure sits on top of the clock and is not attached; tarnishing to bronze mounts minor chips to marble edges.

The fondeur and bronzier Georges Servant was recorded at 137, rue Vieille-du-Temple, Paris. He specialized in the Greek and Egyptian Revival style and was a medallist at the major international exhibitions between 1867 and 1887.

The sculptor Etienne-Henri Dumaige (1830-1888) studied under Feuchère and Dumond. He exhibited at the Salon between 1863 and 1886. A similar clock garniture was sold in these rooms, April 27, 2006, lot 92.
