Catalogue Note

The attribution of Paul Sormani as the maker of the present lot is based on the very high quality of manufacture of the bronze casting, gilding and chasing and construction.  The present lot also bears close similarity to a fine table ambulante, which sold in these rooms, A Private Collection, April 19, 2007, lot 134, bearing the exact same peculiar tapering legs and foliate cast mount issuing toupie feet and the baluster cast gallery.
