the slightly baluster body engraved with an English earl's crest and coronet in a baroque cartouche, also carved with facing helmeted warrior heads, the base of the body carved with overlapping shells, the foot with lobes, matching cover with large spread-eagle finial, body and cover with gold mounts decorated with blue, white and black champleve enamel strapwork, the gold foot rim enameled with blue, white and black scrolling tendrils
