Catalogue Note

A vase of very similar form, unmounted, and glazed in turquoise and aubergine is illustrated by Martin Levy and Michael Whiteway, Théodore Deck Céramiste, no. 42, where the authors note that "vases of this shape, based on Chinese bronze models, were shown at the Vienna International Exhibition, 1873."
