Description

  • maker's mark center of base, partly effaced; marked throughout for export

shaped oval base on openwork feet, centered by a muse with slate with presentation inscription, flanked by two square compartments for sand and ink (liner missing to latter) with finials formed as Mercury and Victory, backed by an openwork panel with espagnolettes supporting a bell topped by a half-draped female with a torch

Condition

as noted re: liner, arms of trumpeter and bell figure bent, Mercury cover pushed down in one corner, back panel could use straightening, otherwise good
