Catalogue Note
Painted circa 1895.
Wrapped in the classic white Spanish mantilla and peineta and dressed in an elegant chartreuse silk skirt decorated with lace, the joven of the present work sports orange and pink flowers in her hair, suggesting that she is dressed for an important occasion: a bullfight or festival.
