Condition
The canvas has been re-lined. There are areas of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably to craquelure in the background. There is craquelure throughout the composition. This work exhibits a clean surface and rich colours. Held in a simple, neo-classical, striated, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame with acanthus leaf motifs at the corners.
