Condition

Original canvas. There are no signs of retouching visible under ultraviolet light. Apart from scattered minor flecks of discoloured varnish, a spot of rubbing at the extreme lower left corner, and two artist's pinholes, at the centre of the extreme upper and lower edges, this work is in very good condition, with rich colours and a strong surface, and ready to hang. Held in a highly decorative, neo-Renaissance, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame.
