Condition
The canvas has been laid on cardboard and is in good condition. There are scattered flecks of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, partially obscured by a varnish, notably to a spot at the back of the figure's head. Apart from a few pinhead-sized flecks of paint loss at the upper and lower left extreme corners, this work is in good condition, with rich colours and tones, and ready to hang. Held in a simple, wide, gold and black-painted moulded plaster and wood frame, in a decorative gold mount embossed with the artist's name, under glass.
