Condition

Apart from a narrow wedge of loss at the right of the upper edge, the panel is in good condition, flat and even. There are scattered flecks of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably to the figure's forehead, the top of her shawl and along the extreme lower edge of the panel. Apart from a fleck of paint loss at the left of the extreme lower edge and some flecks of loss to the varnish in the background, this work is in very good condition, with rich colours and fine detail, and ready to hang. Held in a wide, decorative, faux-mahogany frame with a gold-painted inner accent.
