The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This canvas is unlined and stretched on its original stretcher. The paint layer has been recently cleaned and retouched, and the painting should be hung as is. Under ultraviolet light the original paint reads very strongly. There are remnants of old varnish on the surface and there are a few small retouches above the flowers in the paper in the upper center, beneath the elbow of the seated woman on the left side and also possibly in her chair leg. Despite the eccentricity of the paint layer under ultraviolet light, the condition seems to be very good.
