Condition

The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This painting has recently been restored and should be hung as is. The canvas is lined. The paint layer is clean and varnished. There is a slight scuff in the varnish in the barrel in the lower right corner which could easily be corrected. Under ultraviolet light there are a few cracks in the white blouse and in the upper cheeks of the model which have all been retouched. In the remainder of the picture, apart from a few cracks in the pink dress, the only retouches are in the flag stones at the model's feet on the right side. Once the scuff in the varnish has been corrected, the painting will be ready to hang.
