Condition

The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This painting is in excellent condition. The canvas is un-lined and although it is slightly uneven, it need not be lined yet could tightened or relaxed a little. The paint layer is appears to be slightly dirty and the varnish is dull. Under ultraviolet light there appear to be no retouches and it seems more than likely that the picture is untouched and has probably never been properly restored. Above the jug which is being held there is a slight scratch, but this seems to be in the wet paint and is most likely original.
