Oil on cardboard.
From a first hand inspection colours look more worm compared to the picture in the catalogue.
The ultra violet light reveals fluorescent varnish dishomogeneously spread over the surface.
A careful cleansing is suggested to remove the dust.
The overall condition as to the state of preservation is very good.

Catalogue Note
Il Barabino di Meriggio alla Baldissera è un pittore maturo, che ha affrontato un lungo percorso, dall'incontro con Pellizza da Volpedo, attraverso il Divisionismo e l'influsso del Previati simbolista, fino al ritiro nella contemplazione e rappresentazione del paesaggio della natia Tortona. Influssi ed esperienze si sono fusi e amalgamati, creando una pittura morbida, soffice, che smorza i toni della divisione, ormai meno netta e segmentata. Le nuvole, le chiome degli alberi e le ombre sembrano avere tutte la stessa consistenza e ogni dettaglio concorre alla creazione di un'immagine pacifica e avvolgente della Baldissera, una cascina nel tortonese - non più esistente - dove il pittore si recava spesso.
